The children's author David Walliams dropped by publishing house.

The comedian

Acclaimed children's author and comedian David Walliams has parted ways with his longtime publishing house, the company has said.

A representative for the firm said: "Following a thorough review, and following the appointment of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish future works by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the conclusion was taken subsequent to an investigation into reports of questionable actions towards female individuals.

The publisher did not confirm the reasons for its decision, noting: "It is not our policy to discuss internal matters."

A Prolific Writing Journey

Walliams is one of the UK's most prolific writers for young readers, with sales exceeding in excess of 60 million copies globally in dozens of tongues.

The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins fifteen years ago.

Some of his works, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as TV movies.

His bibliography includes more than 40 books altogether, which features a Christmas book called *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins last autumn.

A Dual Career

He first rose to fame on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE back in 2017 for his services to charity and the arts.

This development follows the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO last fall.
